Form Meets Function: The New Garage
A key aspect of the project was the construction of a new garage that seamlessly accommodates multiple vehicles. The garage's structural design utilised exposed Lip channels, adding an industrial touch to the space while ensuring its robustness. This strong and stylish steel structure complements the oversized double garage, providing ample space for storage and even housing the existing Egoli Gas Generator. From the garage, an arched view frames the iconic Brixton Tower, while well-designed stairs create a seamless flow between the garage and the front and side entrances of the house.
Blending Aesthetics with Neighbouring Spaces
The pool facing facade was Crafted to harmonise with the neighbouring garage, it employed various plaster textures to break away from the norm of standard plastered walls. The result was A visually striking façade that draws the eye and adds depth to the overall aesthetic of the property.
A Seamless Blend of Old and New
The project took an existing vehicle entrance and creatively transformed it. The old entrance was bricked up and the perimeter wall was heightened. In its new form, the wall, along with a newly installed double horizontal slatted garage door, seemed as if it had always belonged there. Illuminated by new lighting, the wall added character to the street side of the property, becoming an inviting feature for all who pass by.
A Studio for Creativity
The Ruli Diseko Parktown Project also saw the creation of a small studio at the property's rear. Previously an old store room, this space was reimagined as a sanctuary for creativity. A large top-hung Aluminium Window provided panoramic views of the garden, while a strategically placed skylight flooded the studio with ample natural light.
